Hopkins Food Truck Festival

Downtown Hopkins turned into one giant outdoor kitchen as the annual event brought thousands of people to Mainstreet for a full day of food, music, and community celebration. Stretching from 11th Avenue North to 8th Avenue South, the free festival featured more than 50 food trucks serving everything from lobster rolls and BBQ to empanadas, Thai street food, pizza, churros, and gourmet desserts.

The atmosphere felt more like a summer block party than a traditional food event. Families, car enthusiasts, dog owners, and groups of friends filled the streets while live music played throughout the day on the MN Lottery Stage. Local bands kept the energy high from late morning into the evening, while lawn games, giveaways, henna artists, and interactive activities gave festival-goers plenty to do between meals.

One of the biggest draws was the incredible variety of food options. Long lines formed around crowd favorites like Pimento Jamaican Kitchen, Pizza Karma, and Matt’s Bar, while adventurous eaters bounced from truck to truck sampling global flavors and sweet treats. The event also featured local craft beer, cocktails, ciders, and non-alcoholic drinks, creating a true Minnesota summer festival atmosphere.

Beyond the food and entertainment, the festival continued its partnership with Feed My Starving Children, with wristband participation helping provide meals for people in need. With packed sidewalks, nonstop activity, and perfect spring weather, the Hopkins stop once again proved why the Minnesota Food Truck Festival series has become one of the Twin Cities’ most popular seasonal events.
