Loons Battle Whitecaps to Scoreless Draw at Allianz Field

Minnesota United returned to Allianz Field on Saturday night looking to snap a five-match winless streak, but despite creating several quality chances, the Loons settled for a 0-0 draw against Western Conference-leading Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The result extended Minnesota's unbeaten home record against Vancouver this season while earning the club its fifth clean sheet of the year behind goalkeeper Drake Callender.

Both teams generated opportunities throughout the evening, but neither could find the breakthrough. Minnesota threatened early and continued to pressure Vancouver's back line, forcing goalkeeper Yohei Takaoka into three saves. At the other end, Callender was equally sharp, stopping five shots to preserve the clean sheet. The draw marked a much-improved defensive performance for the Loons after suffering a 6-0 defeat in Vancouver earlier this season, but the home side was left frustrated after controlling long stretches without converting its chances.

The match also marked Minnesota United's return to Allianz Field following a road trip, with the Loons showing renewed energy in front of their home supporters.
