Minnesota Aurora FC Rolls to 5-0 Despite Weather Chaos at TCO Stadium

Minnesota Aurora FC didn't need a full 90 minutes to make their point Friday night at TCO Stadium in Eagan. By halftime, it was already 4-0, and Edgewater Castle FC had no answers for what Aurora was throwing at them. Skye Leach was the engine all night, finishing with a goal and two assists, while Ai Kitagawa, Jeanette Fieldsend, Gracie Dunaway, and Maia Tabion all got on the scoresheet in a dominant first half that had the crowd buzzing and the scoreboard looking like a scrimmage.

Then the sky opened up. About 90 seconds into the second half, the rain hit hard and fast, and it wasn't misting. Most of the crowd cleared out before play resumed, myself included. You can't blame anyone. The game was already decided. What we all missed in the second half was the Aurora capping a clean sheet that extends their remarkable defensive streak to 11 shutouts in their last 12 regular season matches going back to 2025.

The thing that's hard to ignore with this team is how complete they are. Watching them it was clear they’re in another class. And it isn't just one player or one moment. Kitagawa leads the team with eight goals on the season and she's making it look easy. Goalkeeper Isaac Ranson earned his second clean sheet of the year without breaking a sweat. The game plan is clear, the execution is sharp, and there's no sign of any team in the Heartland Division slowing them down.

Aurora's perfect 8-0-0 record is the headline, but what they're building feels like something more than a hot streak. They've still got two regular season home games left, Wednesday the 17th against Sioux Falls City FC and Saturday the 20th against River Light FC, both at TCO Stadium. If you haven't seen this team play yet, don't wait for better weather. They're worth getting wet for.
