The 21st Annual Last Waltz Tribute at the Fitzgerald Theater wasted no time getting into its groove, opening with a powerful set from Alex Rossi and Friends. Rooted deeply in blues and soul, the band delivered a rich, full-bodied sound that immediately pulled the audience into the spirit of The Last Waltz.

With Alex Rossi leading on guitar and vocals, the band locked into a tight, infectious rhythm—driven by a grooving bassline, expressive keys, steady drums, and a saxophone that added just the right amount of bite and warmth. The ensemble felt less like an opener and more like the foundation for the entire night.

Adding to the energy, Heatbox made a guest appearance for two songs, bringing a unique rhythmic and vocal dynamic that blended seamlessly into the set while adding a modern edge.
