KPMG Women's PGA Championship – Round 2 Recap

Hazeltine National Golf Club | Chaska, Minnesota

South Korea's Ina Yoon continued her dominant run at Hazeltine on Friday, following her record-tying opening 63 with a solid second-round 69 to reach 12-under par for the tournament. The 23-year-old, still searching for her first LPGA Tour title, held a commanding five-stroke advantage heading into the weekend. After a front nine that carried the momentum from Thursday's historic performance, Yoon navigated Hazeltine's demanding layout with the kind of composure that has defined her week. With 10 cuts made in 11 starts this season and a pair of top-four finishes already on her card, she appears both prepared and settled for the pressure that comes with a major championship lead.

A group of four players settled into a share of second place at 7-under, including Nasa Hataoka, Brooke Henderson, A Lim Kim, and Hae Ran Ryu. Henderson made a strong run late in her round, closing with three consecutive birdies to claim her spot on the leaderboard. Ryu had one of the more remarkable turnarounds of the day, bouncing back sharply from a difficult opening round to post a second-round score that was among the best of the day. The crowded second-place cluster sets up an intriguing weekend chase, though each player will need a near-flawless performance over the final 36 holes to threaten Yoon's lead.

Nelly Korda, who enters this week having already won the Chevron and the U.S. Women's Open in 2026, sits at 6-under after back-to-back birdies to open her Friday round. The world No. 1 finds herself five strokes off the pace, a deficit that is manageable but will require her best golf over the weekend. A win here would not only complete a sweep of the season's first three majors, it would also deliver the final points needed to qualify for the LPGA Hall of Fame. The stage is set for a compelling final two rounds at Hazeltine.
